Dr. Liakos trained in advanced reconstructive microsurgery, undergoing a fellowship in Taiwan and observership programs at MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Houston, Texas and UZ Brussel, Belgium. He currently holds a consultants post teaching registrars at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital as well as consulting at Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre. He has a special interest in advanced reconstructive procedures using free vascularised tissue in breast and head and neck surgery.
