Dr Vuyo Soldati is a subspecialist colorectal surgeon. He works as a consultant at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital Colorectal Unit and has recently joined the Colorectal Unit at Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre. Vuyo completed his undergraduate training at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2010. He started his surgical training as a Medical Officer in Pietermaritzburg. He then returned to UCT where he completed his registrar training as a General Surgeon in 2021 and was awarded hi MMed with distinction. He stayed on at UCT and completed his Subspecialist training in Colorectal Surgery in 2023. Vuyo is from Mthatha in the Eastern Cape and grew up a very keen sportsman, especially rugby and cricket. He represented his province at cricket at all age groups. He is married to Qhawekazi, a Paediatric Surgeon and has two children. Vuyo enjoys a game of Padel or touch rugby in his spare time.
