After completing his internship and community service in South Africa, Dr. Neal Goldstein completed basic surgical training at St Mary's Hospital in London (UK) and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS).
He returned to South Africa to undergo post graduate orthopaedic training and received the FCS(SA)Ortho qualification with distinction in 2012 (recipient of the JM Edelstein gold medal).
After working as a lower limb trauma consultant at Charlotte Maxeke JHB Academic Hospital, Dr Goldstein joined Professor Anton Schepers and underwent a two-year dedicated arthroplasty fellowship.
He has been actively working with Prof. Schepers in the Hip and Knee unit at the Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre for over 10 years.
Prof. Schepers retired in December 2024 and Dr. Goldstein has taken over his practice.
The focus of the unit is primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery.
Dr. Goldstein also has a keen interest in digital health and is the founder of LogBox, an electronic medical records system.
